Vaisseau « Crevette Grise » / « Grey Shrimp » ship

Pour mes maquettes de science fiction, je trouve mon inspiration dans mes lectures (I. Asimov, K.H. Scheer, etc.), mais aussi dans l’univers du Manga et de l’Anime japonais. Les œuvres d’artistes comme Mitshihiro Matsuaka et Kow Yokoyama à qui on doit la saga des « Maschinenkrieger » ou « M.a.k ZbV 3000 » qui représentent des machines rappelant souvent le règne animal sont pour moi une référence dans le monde de la SF.

Le « Grey shrimp ship », est inspiré de ces références et représente un aéronef sans pilote destiné à la surveillance et l’interdiction de zones minières convoitées sur une planète dotée d’une atmosphère majoritairement composée d’azote et de vapeurs d’acide chlorhydrique. Évoluant dans un environnement hautement corrosif, il porte malgré son épaisse carapace de nombreuses traces d’usure opérationnelle et malgré une maintenance régulière, il est guetté par la rouille qui finira par le ronger.

For my science fiction models, I find my inspiration in my readings (I. Asimov, K.H. Scheer, etc.), but also in the world of Manga and Japanese Anime. The works of artists like Mitshihiro Matsuaka and Kow Yokoyama to whom we owe the saga of the « Maschinenkrieger » or « M.a.k ZbV 3000 » which represent machines often reminiscent of the animal kingdom are for me a reference in the world of SF.

The “Grey shrimp ship” is inspired by these references and represents an unmanned aircraft, intended for the surveillance and interdiction of coveted mining areas on a planet with an atmosphere mainly composed of nitrogen and hydrochloric acid vapors. Operating in a highly corrosive environment, despite its thick shell it bears numerous traces of operational wear and despite regular maintenance, it is threatened by rust which will eventually eat it away.

Du 7 octobre au 22 novembre 2022, j’ai l’opportunité de pouvoir présenter un certain nombre d’œuvres lors d’une exposition sur mon lieu de travail, la Cour de justice de l’union européenne à Luxembourg. Cette exposition est réservée au personnel de la Cour, mais vous aurez, si vous le souhaitez, une petite chance de les apercevoir lors de la journée portes ouvertes de l’institution, qui a lieu le samedi 8 octobre 2022 (toutes les informations ici : https://curia.europa.eu/jpo/)

From October 7 to November 22, 2022, I have the opportunity to present a number of works during an exhibition at my workplace, the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg. Access to this exhibition is reserved for Court staff, but you will have, if you wish, a chance to see it during the institution’s open day, which takes place on Saturday 8 October 2022 (all information here: https://curia.europa.eu/jpo/)
